Terms of Service

Welcome to Capital Ladder. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Capital Ladder website, tools, community features, newsletter, and all associated services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

3. Subscription Tiers and Billing

3.1 Free Tier

The Free tier includes: weekly Market Pulse newsletter, basic market search, read-only community forum access, and up to 3 proforma calculations per month. No payment information is required.

3.2 Starter Tier ($99/year or $12/month)

Includes all Free features plus: full Climb newsletter track, unlimited proforma calculations, market comparison tools, portfolio tracker (up to 10 properties), full community forum access, and monthly market deep dives.

3.3 Accredited Tier ($497/year)

Includes all Starter features plus: full Summit newsletter track, syndication deal flow digest, sponsor vetting reports, tax strategy deep dives, syndicator tools, unlimited portfolio tracking, virtual summit access, and priority support.

3.4 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Annual subscriptions are billed as a single payment at the start of each billing period. Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same date each month. All prices are in U.S. dollars and exclusive of applicable taxes.

3.5 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your account settings.

4. Money-Back Guarantee

All paid tiers include a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your subscription within the first 30 days, contact us at support@capitalladder.com for a full refund. Refund requests after 30 days will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.

5. Content Disclaimers

CAPITAL LADDER IS NOT A REGISTERED INVESTMENT ADVISOR, BROKER-DEALER, OR TAX ADVISOR. All content on the Platform — including market analysis, Deal Scores, Market Scores, proforma calculations, syndication reviews, sponsor spotlights, and tax strategy articles — is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing on this Platform constitutes investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice. You should consult with qualified professionals (financial advisor, CPA, attorney) before making any investment decision.

6. User-Generated Content

By posting content on the Platform (forum posts, deal reviews, service provider reviews, comments), you grant Capital Ladder a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content on the Platform. You retain ownership of your content.

Community Standards

• Do not share exact property addresses in “Review My Deal” submissions
• Do not post spam, scams, or misleading investment claims
• Do not harass, threaten, or personally attack other members
• Do not post content that violates any law or regulation
• Do not use the Platform for unauthorized solicitation of investments

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these standards.

7. Intellectual Property

Capital Ladder, the Capital Ladder logo, Deal Score, Market Score, The Climb, The Summit, and Market Pulse are trademarks of Capital Ladder. All Platform content, tools, algorithms, and designs are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAPITAL LADDER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FINANCIAL LOSSES FROM INVESTMENT DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION PROVIDED ON THE PLATFORM.

Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Capital Ladder in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Your portfolio data will be retained for 30 days after termination to allow you to export it, then deleted.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and/or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
