LadderScore is Capital Ladder's proprietary market rating system. It evaluates 3,100+ U.S. markets on a 0-100 scale using 50+ quantitative factors from 26 data sources including Zillow, Redfin, FHFA, Census Bureau, BLS, FEMA, HUD, IRS, EPA, and more. The algorithm was backtested against actual Zillow ZHVI appreciation data and optimized via coordinate descent to maximize rank correlation between predicted scores and realized 12-month returns. LadderScore3 (3-month) and LadderScore12 (12-month) forecasts use OLS regression models trained on historical outcomes. Rankings are updated weekly. This is not investment advice.
